Speed Stacking is a sport I came across when I was searching youtube. The amount of young children that are currently holding the title for fastest stacks are only 10 years old. It’s pretty impressive how fast these kids can move! Here are a few videos of some of youtubes most famous when it comes to sport stacking.

I was searching youtube recently and came across this young lady named Ariana Grande.  Not only is her hair absolutely the most killer shade of red, she is mega talented as well. I heard her sing and thought, “WOW! What a voice!" Little did I know, she is Cat Valentine on a Disney channel show called Victorious.

A little bit about her from her WEBSITE :

Ariana Grande currently stars as Cat Valentine, on the hit Nickelodeon show VICTORIOUS. Most recently, she was signed to the Universal Republic Record label with a single and album in her very near future.  Ariana has just completed her first voice-over work as an animated Fairy, Princess Diaspro, on the new Nickelodeon series, The Winx Club.  She was also named as Klout.com’s 3rd most influential actress online.

Originating from the world of Broadway, Ariana made her debut in 2008 in the original role of Charlotte in 13 the musical, for which she won a National Youth Theatre Association Award in 2009. In 2010, she created the original role of Miriam in the reading of the new musical, Cuba Libre, written and produced by Desmond Child.

Here is a video of her that really shows her musical talent:

This video is of my particular favorite song:

POST #7: Take My Picture Cause Baby I’m A Star

Melissa Lewend is an artist, one of her many talents happens to be photography. It is also one of her biggest passions. She is twenty-three years old and from Deerfield Beach, FL. She comes from a large Italian Polish family that means the world to her. She graduates in December with her bachelors of Fine Art, from Campbell University. She is double majoring in Graphic Design and Studio art. Apart from her love of the graphic arts, she has a passion for painting.

!!! Q & A !!!

When did you start doing photography?
It started with my first photography class when I was in middle school and got to develop our own film. It was one of the coolest classes that I had taken up to that point.

Do you prefer a Canon or a Nikon? Why?
My first camera was a Nikon film with interchangeable lenses, it was my dads and I though I was a professional at 13 using that camera. Ever since then I have only owned and used Nikon cameras for all my photography, it might be just for the fact that my first camera was a Nikon.

What about taking pictures is do you love?
I love the honesty of photography; it is capturing a moment in time that can’t be reproduced. We all love looking back at photos of our childhood or vacations we had taken no matter how silly we think we look.

Why do you think it’s so important to have a passion in your life?
It is so important to have a passion in our lives. Without having a passion in your life you can almost feel like you have no purpose; you will get to experience accomplishment. My photography was published this past year and with that I felt so proud of my self. It is so important to find a passion in your life, it doesn’t matter what it is as long as your happy. I wasn’t the most popular kid in high school but it was good to have something to help me become more comfortable in my own skin.

What’s your life moto?
My life moto is “Que Sera Sera” it means what ever will be will be. Being a bit of a control freak it is hard for me to let things go, this remind me that its okay not to be in control at all times.

Here are some of her photos and a few paintings too! :

Nick Rapuano is a theatre major at Stella Adler college in New York. I could write paragraphs about Nick but like some of the others in my blog, his Q & A was so in depth that I didn’t even think that an introduction was necessary. I hope you all enjoy this interview. Nicks a funny one with an unbelievable talent. Keep your on Nick because the next place you’ll be seeing him is on the big screens...and I don’t mean the ones you can get at Best Buy ;-)

!!!! Q & A !!!!

When did you realize that you wanted to be a thespian?
(Ever since I was a kid, as cliche as it sounds, I've always found happiness in entertaining people, friends and family members In my bedroom to Disney films. It wasn't an attention thing, It's just I had so much fun doing it and others had fun watching so it's a good Win/Win.)

Do you like musical or straight theatre better?
(I do enjoy Musicals better, But I have no problem at all with straight plays. I am studying at a straight acting studio in New York. I see Straight plays are like pencil sketch of life. Black and white but the detail and shape are as realistic as a photograph. Musicals, on the other hand, are like paintings. Realistic in look, but also has a splash of color. Color being the music. I have written several Artist Inspired "Jukebox" musicals. And I am currently working on an original piece as well as other straight plays.)

What is it about theatre that you love so much?
(The moments when you are working in a play or scene and you get carried away with the person you are portraying so much that you become that person mentally. I love throwing myself into a role. I love working with people within those moments and affecting them, as actors, to lose themselves in their roles. The balance creates a whole other world for me. And I could do it every night if I had to.)

What would be your roll of a life time?
(The role of a lifetime for me would be Frankie Valli in the musical Jersey Boys. I've been training myself to sing his style for the past four years and I still continue to work and train myself enough to be able to contribute my talent to that show in anyway possible. I also would love to play either of the Four Seasons in that show. It really spoke to me as a musical fan and ever since I've seen it, it holds a special place in my heart and my life. Another role I would love to play would be Donald O'Connors role in Singin' In The Rain.)

What was on of the memorable parts you’ve played thus far?
(It would have to be when I played King Arthur in Lerner and Lowes CAMELOT. I've loved the show when I watched the film and after nailing the part in auditions I knew I would be able to take the journey of that incredible role. It still surprises me today that I have accomplished that role. I look back and think "How the hell did I remember all those lines?" The one role where i truly broke down and cried for having to hold it in throughout a monologue. I felt the heartbrokeness of Arthur in my own mind and body. And his conclusion gave me a burst of hope and joy... Okay, that was corny but, it's the truth.)

Why do you think it’s so important to have a passion in your life?
(Not having a passion in life is like having a treasure map without the treasure. You need to want something in life. Whether it is in theatre or athletics or anything! If you didn't have a passion or a goal in life you won't be able to look back on your journey in life.)

What’s your life moto?
("Don't sweat the petty things, and don't pet the sweaty things" Life is going to give you problems. If they are small and you treat them as if they are the END OF THE WORLD then the even bigger problems will kill you. Positive is the best way to think. When you think positive, good things happen. If you think negative, good things may happen, but you will still be unhappy. Also you shouldn't pet anything that is sweaty. I know I wouldn’t)

Here is a few videos of Nick doing what he does best:

This first one is a serious piece from one of my favorite straight plays, Doubt:

This video is of Nick singing a song from the musical Jersey Boys:

POST #5: Dreams Really Do Come True

Her spanish name is Marianna, her American name is Elizabeth but she asked to be called Lizzie. She was found as a child in Santiago, Chile on a church step. She had the chicken pox and a broken right leg and had no way to know who her real parents were and are. She figured origins are not only Chilean but Mapuchi Indian and Hawaiian. She currently lives and works in Bermuda. She has lived in Atlanta, Georgia for most of her life and will always call it home. She completely believes in fairies and magic and her religion is animism, Buddhism and Zen. She loves surfing, cupcakes, meditation but cannot stand peanut butter or the smell AND taste of coffee. She didn't know what she want to be when she "grew up" but she loves acting, interior design, photography, travelling along with many many other things and she plans to never stop learning.

!!!!Q & A TIME!!!!:
When did you realize that you were physic?
I realized it when I was in high school but always had a "funky" feeling about myself a long time ago.

Does is affect you on a daily basis?
It does and doesn't affect me but a good now and then I will get serious deja vus or just moments when I feel even stronger to something bigger than I could image (or maybe I could imagine it just perfectly). Nonetheless whether it's connecting to people or the world around me I feel a very strong connection.

Do you feel that your positive energy is what makes these things happen?
I don't think positive energy has anything to do with it because at a point I was very negative in my life just from negative thoughts but I believe the idea of thinking positive adds to more "finds" in my life that I have dreamed about.

Why do you think it’s so important to have a passion in your life?
Personally I believe it is important to konw about your passions because it is just a drive to continue through everyday life along with a way of getting or having an understanding of who one truly is inside. I however believe that passion is really not needed in life because I believe life is nothing special just something that we all got lucky to be allowed to have. Not saying I do not love life, I more than love it and am proud to have one, BUT all that I have just said on passion I believe is a different knowledge than our brains are trained to think and I am proud to think that way I do. That to me is a great passion, my knowledge and healthy curiosity. (If that didn't make sense then passion is the key to keep us going and it is needed to help us have strong wants, courage, wills and do's/don't's.)

What is your life moto?
My life moto would have to be. . . . .hakuna matata and just hang loose. If I had to pick that is.

Here is a story that Lizzie has kindly shared with me and now I want to share it all to you! Enjoy :-)

The first time I realized that something was truly up with my dreams was freshmen year in high school. I had a dream about a school on a hill, each building side by side and on the left side of the school was a tree with a tire swing on it. However, as I was in one of the buildings I was very unhappy so I treid to sneak out of the building but as I left each building caught on fire until I escaped down the hilll all the buildings caught on fire except for the tire swing. About 2 years later my parents had finished building their mountain house in North Carolina and we passed a boarding school that looked EXACTLy like the school in my dream with the tree even on the left side of the hill of all the buildings. As soon as I was back to school from the North Carolina visit I mentioned my dream in class and one kid recognized the name of the school and the description and siad it was his old boarding school but he came here instead because a bit ago there was a fire and it burned all the buildings.Ever since then I have been remembering my dreams and realizing I had it happened before in my dream. I'm not sure why this happens to me or if it's like the movies where later my "powers" will be needed for good but I know I'm special whether it comes to use or not.
